Why Technology Education? | Why Our Program?

  • Our program provides a rigorous technical background and the highest level of teacher preparation.
  • Our students take 10 technical classes and engage in a capstone design project.
  • We offer two concentrations: teaching and applied technology. Students with a teaching concentration will be eligible for full certification to teach technology education in grades K-12 in Rhode Island upon completion of the program.
  • Topics covered in the include: teaching and learning, educational psychology, special education practices, computer-aided design, manufacturing systems and communication systems.
